Norma E. Boyd, 85, of Decatur, IL passed away Friday, October 1, 2010 at Fair Havens Christian Home.

 

A service to celebrate Norma’s life will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Dawson & Wikoff North Funeral Home, with Rev. Buzz Swett officiating.  Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 till 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Garver Brick United Methodist Church.  Messages of condolences may be sent to the family at www.dawson-wikoff.com.

 

 

Norma was born February 27, 1925, in Decatur, the daughter of Earl and Ruth (Swarthout) Sigmon. She married Joe F. Boyd June 14, 1942.  He passed away March 15, 2009. She was a member of Garver Brick United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Macon County Home Extension having served as the past Chairperson. Norma was proud of her occupation of “farmer’s wife”.  She enjoyed traveling with her husband and had visited all fifty states.  She also enjoyed sewing and crafts.

 

 

Norma is survived by her daughters:  Rita Cummins of Decatur and Frances Brix of Decatur; sister; Donna Sefton and her husband Joe of Decatur, grandchildren:  Allan Brix and his wife Shelly of Morton, David Brix and his wife Dawn of Oreana, Robin Pettit and her husband Brian of Columbus, OH, Damon Cummins and his wife Lydia of Bowling Green, KY, Paula Warner and her husband Tom of Mt. Juliet, TN, Jason Cummins and his wife Pamela of Floyds Knob, IN; great-grandchildren:  Jordan, Andrea, Briana, GaBrielle, Nathan, Lauren, Aaron, Justin, Morgan, Dalton M. and Gabe M. Calvin, Dalton, Wyatt and Sage,

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her son-in-law Dennis Brix.
